How to find an entry in your Inbox

Locate a file in your Inbox using search, filtering, and sorting. Your Inbox collects scheduled deliveries and downloads you’ve requested.

Before you begin

You need a Lens account. Your Inbox is personal and you see only your own entries, and nobody else sees yours.

Two kinds of thing arrive here:

  1. Scheduled deliveries — Reports or Charts that you schedule or that which is sent to you on a recurring schedule someone set up
  2. Your own downloads — anything you request from the Dashboard’s Download menu. Downloads don’t go straight to your browser; they arrive here and you collect them.

Entries take a moment to appear after they’re generated. Use Refresh rather than reloading the page.

Steps

Step 1. Open the Inbox

Click the Inbox icon in the main navigation. Your entries are listed with the Report title, who generated it, when, its type, the schedule it came from, and its current status.

Step 2. Search by name

Type any part of the Report or Chart name into the search bar. The list narrows to matching entries.

Step 3. Filter by type

Click the filter icon next to the Report Type column heading and choose the types you want. Useful when scheduled deliveries are burying the download you’re actually looking for.

Step 4. Sort by any column

Click a column heading to sort. Clicking again reverses it; a third click returns to the default order. Sorting by Generated On is the quickest way to find something recent.

Step 5. Refresh if it’s not there

Click Refresh. Files are generated in a queue, so something triggered a moment ago may not have arrived yet if it is a particularly large Report.

Result

You can find any entry in your Inbox by name, type, or date, even once entries have accumulated from several schedules.

Common issues

  1. A scheduled Report hasn’t arrived. Click Refresh and wait a moment. If it still isn’t there, check with whoever set up the schedule that you’re on it.
  2. A download I requested isn’t here. Click Refresh and give it a moment, files are generated in a queue. Downloads always come here rather than straight to your browser, so this is the right place to look.
