How to change your Dashboard display settings
Choose which fields are displayed and how multiple Dashboards are presented in the navigation. These are your own settings and they change what you see, not what anyone else sees.
Before you begin
You need the Dashboard open. Two separate settings are covered here, in two different menus:
- Preferences — which fields are displayed, in the three-dot menu
- Tab Type — how multiple Dashboards appear in the navigation, in the settings icon
Both are display-only. Neither changes the underlying Reports.
Steps
Step 1. Set your Preferences
Click the three dots in the top-right corner and choose Preferences. Select the fields you want displayed, then confirm.
Fewer fields makes a wide Report easier to read. Anything you remove is still there, it’s hidden from your view, not deleted.
Step 2. Choose a Tab Type
Click the settings icon in the top-right corner and pick one:
- Tab — a row of tabs across the top
- Dropdown — a dropdown selector, best when you have many Dashboards
- Button — buttons
- Classic View — the classic layout
This only matters if you have more than one Dashboard. With a single Dashboard there’s nothing to navigate between.
Result
The Dashboard shows the fields you chose, and multiple Dashboards are presented the way you picked. Both settings are remembered between sessions.
Common issues
- A field I removed is still showing. Some fields may be required by the Report’s design. Ask your Lens Designer whether it can be made optional.
- I removed a field and now a Report looks wrong. Re-open Preferences and add it back. Nothing was deleted.
- My download is missing columns. Downloads follow your display preferences. Add the fields back before downloading.
